Our Leadership Team

The staff and leadership here at New Community Church is comprised of men and women who love, care, and pray for the people in the church and community.   • Mark Bolton - Senior Pastor   

    Mark Bolton is one of the founding pastors of New Community Church. One of his early careers was teaching at a school for learning-disabled children after which he began to consider a career in church ministry. In 1985 he graduated with a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Mark's first position in church leadership was in student and sports ministry in Clarion, PA. Subsequent to that, he started a church in New Jersey then came back to Western Pennsylvania to join the leadership team at a local church in Wexford. Currently Mark is continuing his studies in a doctoral program at the Reformed Theological Seminary in Oviedo, Florida. He is a sports enthusiast who competes in triathlons. Mark is married to Gina and has two daughters, Hannah and Christine.

  • Hollis Haff - Pastor of Discipleship

    Prior to ministry in the local church, Hollis spent 18 years with Athletes in Action, an international sports ministry. He was chaplain to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, and one of the pioneers of pro sports ministry. He graduated with a BS in Education from West Virginia University in 1971 and obtained his Master of Divinity from Trinity School for Ministry in 1986. Hollis and his wife Karen have three adult children - Holly, Matthew, and Heather - and 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Hollis loves reading, eating out, going to the beach, and playing with his grandchildren.

  • Adam Jackley - Young Adult Pastor   

    Adam joined the staff of New Community Church in 2010. Before his arrival, he spent four and a half years (2002-2006) in student ministry in Wexford, PA. Adam graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Public Health - Natural Sciences in 2002. In 2009, he completed his Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Adam and his wife, Katie, have a daughter, Selah, and sons, Judah and Micah. Adam loves reading, running with his family, and photography.

  • Greg Macaluso - Director of Music 

    Greg has been Music Director at NCC since 2003. After attending Carnegie Mellon University, Greg moved to Las Vegas where his music career flourished as a pianist, arranger, composer, performer, and faculty member at UNLV. He was the musical director for Wayne Newton from 1988-2003. Greg had the honor of directing six USO tours visiting Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Korea, and Bosnia to perform for our troops, and has played for Presidents Clinton and Bush. His wife Jamie (a concert violinist) and their sons, Joe and Lucas, are also blessed with one of God's greatest gifts - music!Check out Greg's website at www.gregmacaluso.com

  • Elaine Heitzer - Worship Director 

    Elaine grew up in Saxonburg and has always loved living there. She has been involved in worship ministry for over 15 years and has a passion for pointing people to Christ. With a BS in Art Education and a love for painting, she enjoys helping to bring beauty to our worship spaces. Elaine joined NCC in 2009 and has been on staff since 2010. Elaine is one of our worship leaders and is married to Mike, who runs sound for our services. She has a son Chris and a future daughter-in-law Vanessa. She enjoys motorcycle riding with Mike, attending Christian music festivals and concerts, flower gardening, singing and laughing.

  • Matt Mason - Worship Leader

    A California native, Matthew was called to Pittsburgh in 2009 as an urban missionary with Urban Impact Foundation. Though he was raised singing gospel music, both his musical training (at California Baptist University) and experience have provided him with a diverse musical background. Matthew has been blessed to work with Disney, the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, American Opera Company, and more recently, the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh. He has had extensive experience singing for national contemporary Christian gospel recording artists including Steve Green, Norman Hutchins, and Zacardi Cortez, as well as being a singer/songwriter in his own right. His greatest fulfillment is in leading worship. Matt began leading worship at NCC in 2013. Matt married Zuli Jones on January 9, 2016. He loves traveling abroad but will always love the "Golden State" of California.

  • Marianne Ferrans - Director of Children's Ministries

    Marianne has been attending NCC since 2005 and has served on staff in Children's Ministries since 2007. She graduated from Newbury College with a BS in Accounting and worked in the field for many years. In 2002 she and her husband started a Sunday-school ministry that God has used in many states and countries over the years. Marianne has a passion for children and leading them to love Jesus. She is married to Ken, and they have two sons, TJ and Joey. Marianne enjoys being outdoors, coaching, reading, cooking, and boating.

  •  Lisa Jackson - Children's Ministry Administrative Assistant   

    Lisa has attended New Community Church since 2007 and joined the staff in 2013. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with BAs in English and English Education and a minor in Psychology. After graduation, she worked as an editor at a publishing company until she met her husband, J., (lead singer and lyricist of ApologetiX) and they have five kids: Janna, Heather, Kelly, Natalie, and TJ. She enjoys reading and writing but not arithmetic. She also likes Pittsburgh sports, UK basketball, music, movies, and brownie sundaes.

  • Joel Friend - Director of Student Ministries   

    Joel has served at NCC since October of 2008. He has worked primarily with Student Ministries, particularly middle school. He attended Geneva College where he studied Youth Ministry and Sociology. Joel graduated from Geneva in 2008. Prior to fully committing to NCC's Student Ministries in the summer of 2010, Joel worked as a Therapeutic Staff Support for UPMC, working with children diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Joel has a deep affection for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he loves to read or listen to anything by Timothy Keller. He and his wife, Amber, reside in Cranberry Township with their children, Noah and Avelyn.

  • Natalie Glover - Associate Director of Student Ministries       

    Natalie Glover came on staff in 2017. Prior to that, she spent the previous five years involved in student ministry in Western PA, particularly discipling middle and high school girls. Some of her fondest memories are from ministry. Natalie graduated from Geneva College with a B.S. in Integrated Human Services with a Psychology minor in 2017. Natalie recently married JB Glover on June 24, 2017. They live in the small town of Beaver Falls. She has a heart for evangelism, learning, laughing, singing, and loves to meet new people over a cup of French Roast coffee.

  • Vicki Carlson - Director of Connection        

    Vicki joined the staff in the fall of 2008, and she enjoys helping people connect at NCC. She accomplishes her role to help people get connected through Newcomers' Lunches, Covenant Membership functions, small groups, and various serving ministries. Vicki is married to Kurt and they have four children: Caroline, Katie, Kyra, and Kai. Her passions include music, photography, and video production which enables her to create meaningful media pieces.

  • Tami Cavey - Director of Communications/Office Manager          

    Tami and her family have been attending NCC since 2009. In 2014, she joined the staff and now manages the church website and all marketing and communications. Additionally, she oversees the day-to-day running of the office and support staff, and coordinates special events such as the Pig Roast, baptisms, child dedications, weddings, memorial services, and other community events. Tami is married to Bill and has one daughter, Ashley, who attends Geneva College. They are members of a small group and serve as ushers on Communion Sundays. Previously, Tami served as a leader in Kids' Kingdom and KidZone, and she currently serves on the Women's Ministry team. Tami enjoys traveling, eating out, going to the movies, and reading.

  • Frank & Gitti Hajduk - Business Managers

    As one of the founding families of New Community, Frank and Gitti have been involved in various ministries since the church's beginning. They are both presently serving on the Elder Board. Frank has obtained his MBA, CPA and is employed by PNC Bank as Senior Vice President of Risk Management. He uses his accounting skills in the role of CFO for the church. Gitti is onsite to perform the daily tasks of receiving the offering, accounts payable, and all other related business functions. They have three children: Mandy, Eric, and Alex.

  • Andrea Werth - Administrative Assistant      

    Andrea recently joined the NCC staff in 2017. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Slippery Rock University. Prior to joining the church staff, she gained experience as an Executive Assistant at a law firm in Colorado. She and her husband Justin reside in Hampton Township with their two daughters, Finley and Devyn. Andrea enjoys music, Pittsburgh sports, exercising, and dance parties with her family.

  • Ernie Kuhs - Facilities Manager    

    Ernie started attending NCC in 2012 and was married at NCC in 2013 by Mark Bolton. Ernie attended Rosedale Technical Institute and was self-employed as a general contractor for 14 years before he started working at NCC. Ernie is a jack-of-all-trades and brings his training and skills to improving the church's facility and keeping the church a welcoming place to our members. Combined, Ernie and his wife, Carrie, have five children: Emily, Grace, Ernie, Ian, and Stephen. Ernie participated in the first Kingdom Assignment Project, and as a result became involved in the Appalachia mission trips with NCC and World Vision. He enjoys hunting, shooting, fishing, boating, hiking, and spending time with family.
