Investing in our future

The mission of New Community Church Children's Ministries is to partner with parents to raise godly kids.

This mission is based on Deuteronomy 6:4-9:

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates."

KidZone 2022

July 11-15, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Make Waves this summer at KidZone with this wet and wild VBS! Kids will learn that what you do today can change the world around you. When you put your trust in Jesus, you can "make waves" because of His Spirit living inside you. Through fun activities, engaging lessons, and God's Word, we'll help kids understand how they can share God's love with the people around them. The cost is $60 per child, and all children entering kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to attend.

Children's Ministries includes:

KIDS' KINGDOM is our Sunday morning ministry for any child from newborn through 5th grade. Age-appropriate worship and biblical teaching are offered in Kids' Kingdom during each Sunday morning service, at 9 and 11 a.m., while students in 6th through 8th grade attend THRIVE, and adults worship in the Sunday services. It is our prayer that Kids’ Kingdom is a vibrant community where children KNOW Jesus Christ, GROW up in Him, and GO out for Him!

Our mission is to partner with parents to lay a spiritual foundation that will guide a child toward becoming a growing disciple of Jesus Christ, and develop a team of volunteers who are skilled and equipped in ministry to children.

KidZone is our week-long Vacation Bible School. Daily key points and Bible verses are reinforced through worship, Bible time, small-group huddles, games, and crafts. The cost is usually $50-60 per child (scholarships are available), and all children entering kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to attend. Students in grades 7-12 and adults are invited to be leaders of groups, games, crafts, and more during this special week of community building and Bible teaching at NCC.

  • AWANA 2022

We have made the difficult decision to not offer AWANA this 2021-22 school year. For the past year we have made every effort to re-launch this ministry but we are unable to make it work due to the number of volunteers needed.

One of the strengths of AWANA is scripture memorization. To continue this valuable spiritual practice, we have implemented a monthly scripture verse in Kid’s Kingdom. In addition, we have scripture memorization tips and tools for you at home.

We understand the loss of AWANA is difficult and we feel that along with you. As a church, we will continue to offer family discipleship tools to equip you as the faith leaders in your home.

Who's Involved?

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry, and it’s an honor to serve with each and every one of them as they love on kids each week! Every Children's Ministries volunteer has completed a background check and is committed to making New Community Church a safe, biblically relevant, and fun environment for your kids.

If you are interested in serving, we would love to have you! Stop by the check-in desk on a Sunday or email Marianne Ferrans for more information or to get involved.
