Building Expansion 2025 - FAQ's

Why now?

After 20 years, our current building falls short of our values of community, family, and discipleship. We believe expanding our facility will better equip our congregation to live and love like Jesus and go out for Him.

What is the long-term vision for our campus?

We aim to fully utilize our property by implementing expansion phases for worship, discipleship, and community. The new indoor areas will feature large and small gathering spaces, onsite offices, a youth ministry area, and a first-floor worship center. Outdoors, we plan to enhance the property with recreational and gathering spots to highlight its park-like setting.

What is the project timeline?

During 2025 we will continue to pray, plan, and raise funds for the building expansion. We hope to break ground in the spring of 2026. It will take approximately two years to complete all the construction but we’re planning to continue to utilize our building and church property during that time. We will endeavor to minimize the disruption.

What are the guiding principles of the building expansion?

Since 2022, our leadership (pastors, elders, and staff) has been seeking God’s will. We will continue to prioritize prayer to create an environment that reflects our values and equips our people to impact the community and the world for Jesus

Will all funds need to be raised before construction begins?

Our aim is to raise all necessary funds for the project without incurring debt, allowing us to focus on our mission work with existing partners and within our community. The stewardship team has been planning and saving for expansion for years, and our building team has accounted for possible increases in labor and materials costs. We believe our congregation can fully fund the expansion through generous giving and look forward to seeing what God will do. While we hope to avoid debt, we are prepared to use limited borrowing if necessary during or after construction, as we do not believe short-term debt is unbiblical.

How will we replace any parking spaces lost in the construction of the new building expansion?

The expansion will result in the loss of some parking spaces in front of the current building. To address this, we plan to reconfigure the flow of the lot and utilize the lot adjacent to Route 910. We are also exploring creative solutions to move people across the bridge to the main entrance. Rest assured, we will maintain the number of parking spaces required for a facility our size.

How will the new building be designed and furnished?

All the new and renovated spaces will be designed and furnished in a way that is attractive, cost-effective, and as energy-efficient as possible. Our goal is to create a welcoming and functional facility without being excessive.

If we are contributing to MISSION: IMPACT, how does this change my giving to the general freewill fund and other special offerings?

Freewill gifts are necessary to fund our operational budget. Giving toward MISSION: IMPACT is designated giving, above and beyond tithes and general offering that goes specifically toward MISSION: IMPACT building and mission expansion.

Are there additional ways besides cash that I can give toward MISSION: IMPACT?

Yes. Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give. You might have some stocks, property, or even some stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past that he might be inviting you to release or repurpose during this time. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help. Additional information linked here. Please contact Gitti Hajduk, our business manager, at ghajduk@nccinwexford.org to make a gift of this type.

How do I start or adjust my giving to MISSION: IMPACT?

If you are new to giving at NCC: you can set up one time or recurring giving options by going to our app or our website at www.nccinwexford.org and choosing the “Give Online” option. This will prompt you for all the necessary information. Our giving is private and secure, managed by Pushpay. To give to MISSION: IMPACT specifically use the drop down arrow next to fund and choose the “building fund” option. Please note that all giving (ACH, credit, or debit card) via Pushpay incurs an additional fee. You have an option (not an obligation) to cover a portion of this fee if you choose. If you would like to adjust your current giving: you will need to login to your secure Pushpay account. Because this information is personal and secure, our NCC office cannot adjust your giving for you. To avoid any of the additional Pushpay fees, we encourage you to give via personal check, allowing for the entire amount of your donation to go to the MISSION: IMPACT campaign. Please make checks payable to “New Community Church” and designate your giving to MISSION: IMPACT on the memo line.

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Yes, you will receive a year-end statement for tax purposes. If you would like a cash gift to be tax deductible, please identify yourself as the giver.

What if I can’t give financially right now?

NCC’s vision for Mission: Impact is something that goes beyond just financial giving (though that is a part of it!). Our goal is 100% engagement and full participation in the work that God is doing in and through his church. This can take many forms, such as prayer over Mission: Impact, spend time in personal reflection through this Guidebook’s devotionals, helping serve in our many ministry areas during this time. If you are not in a place to give financially, there is still a place for you here. Mission: Impact is not just a commitment to giving, but to the transformative work God is doing both in our lives and his church.

What if I am new to New Community Church?

Welcome! We are so thrilled that you are here! You can make a pledge or contribution at any time during the campaign.

How long is my commitment?

Your commitment is up to you! Although we are asking for initial financial commitments in 2025, new and existing church members can initiate campaign commitments at any time through the completion of the project in 2027.

Will we be able to continue to use the church while construction is ongoing?

We hope to break ground in the spring of 2026. It will take approximately two years to complete all the construction but we’re planning to continue to utilize our building and church property during that time. We will endeavor to minimize the disruption to our

Sunday services.

Why did we select MISSION: IMPACT for the building and mission expansion campaign?

NCC is a church that exists to make disciples who live and love like Jesus, who grow up in Him, and who go out for Him. We are a missional church dedicated to building disciples who make a difference in God’s kingdom.

We also believe that God has positioned us for greater impact going forward due to faithful prayer, discernment and stewardship by our pastors, staff, elders, and congregation. Our goal is to “build here” by making improvements to our church facility and property so that we can “send there” by better supporting our current mission partners and other mission projects around the world. MISSION: IMPACT encapsulates these values and goals.

How will contributing to the MISSION: IMPACT building and mission expansion affect my current giving?

We are blessed with a generous congregation. The freewill offerings provided by our current members have allowed us to operate successfully since the church was founded. The MISSION: IMPACT building and mission expansion is separate from freewill gifts. We are asking for 100% engagement in this campaign because we believe it is what God is calling us to do and we are hoping that every member of the congregation will contribute regardless of the size of the gift. Every gift matters - to us and to God.

If you have more questions or would like to discuss the MISSION: IMPACT building and mission campaign, send an email to expansion@nccinwexford.org, schedule a one-on-one meeting with Adam Jackley, or contact one of our elders.

Our elders include: Erin Blechman, Matthew Mason, Joel Friend, Betsy Sicher, Sam Anderson, Frank Hajduk, Gitti Hajduk, Rebecca Harper, Adam Jackley, Craig Polard, Mark Miliken, Gary Proie, Bill Peduzzi
