Positioned for Impact: NCC Building Expansion 2025

Starting in the summer of 2024, New Community Church began working with the architecture and

planning firm, Gensler, to develop a master plan for our current church campus. The purpose of the

master plan was to evaluate facility and site options that would support growth over the next 10+

years while also providing opportunities for more functional gathering space that addresses the way

that NCC’s ministry operates today. The master plan also considered how the natural assets of the

property could help frame location and alignment of expansion space moving forward.

A four phase process for development of the master plan was followed

Phase 1 Engage: Gensler reviewed our existing documents and regulatory information, and

conducted a site walk through in July 2024 to observe and assess the current church facilities,

identify areas of improvement, and inform potential design solutions.

Phase 2 Discover: The responses from visioning workshops, focus groups, and an online survey

indicated a strong desire for improved facilities—particularly on-site staff offices, dedicated spaces

for youth ministry and outdoor gatherings, and an expanded lobby to better support the church’s

mission and community engagement.

Phase 3 Analyze: With input from the previous phases in hand, the Gensler team presented four

planning options and recommendations in November 2024.

Phase 4 Recommend: A refined set of plans was generated that aligned with cost estimates and input

from the November 2024 meeting.
